Next year we'll probably need a bigger page, as Warfare moves to a larger venue at Ascot Racecourse, which should allow many more players to take part!
We've now been sent the results from the main historical periods at Warfare 2019, and they are now published on the BHGS website. Next year we'll probably need a bigger page, as Warfare moves to a larger venue at Ascot Racecourse, which should allow many more players to take part!

We're pleased to announce the lineup of BHGS events for 2020, with both Roll Call and the London GT Teams tickets also already on sale.
The full roster for this year is :
(This year the London GT event will take place at the end of June due to construction work at the venue this autumn. The organiser plans to shift back to an autumn slot from 2021) More rulesets than ever before. Continuing our record of introducing new rulesets, 2020 will see Roll Call host our first ever event for the new Bataille Empire Napoleonic ruleset, with more planned for later in the year. Renatio et Gloriam also moves from beta testing to the staging of open-play events in 2020 - and we also will be hosting the official MeG World Championships for the first time at the London GT Teams in June as well: The current roster of confirmed rulestes is as follows:
Tickets for Britcon and the BHGS Challenge @ UKGE will go on sale in the next few weeks. There are also plenty of other events to take part in across the country throughout 2020 - the Calendar on our website is being continually updated just as soon as we are able to confirm details with other organisers. We look forward to seeing you across the table in 2020! The BHGS UK ADLG rankings have been updated with results from all 35 events held across the UK over the last 12 months up to and including the recent BHGS Teams and 4th round of the Northern League.
The latest L'Art de la Guerre BHGS rankings span a total of 203 placings - the first time in almost 6 years that any BHGS UK ranking system has featured over 200 different players, with 42 having entered 6 or more events to record a "full" BHGS ADLG ranking score. These rankings also feature 14 overseas-based players who have taken part in UK events in the last year. A "blended" ranking score has been used for players at Campaign and the BHGS teams, giving equal weighting to each players team and individual placings. Over the weekend of 14/15th September more than 150 players from around the world took part in our first ever London Teams event, hosted alongside the London GT (a mostly 40k) competition at the Leigh Valley Sports Centre
Competitions for ADLG, DBMM, MeG, FoGAM, To The Strongest! and also the Saga World Cup were staged across the weekend, and all of the results we have are now posted here along with some photos from the event. General feedback from the event was very positive and so we will be looking to renew this new partnership with the LGT organisers to bring even more historical events to the venue next year. With just over a couple of weeks to go the current roster of teams (and players) who have entered for the BHGS Team event at the London GT is now available: L'Art de la Guerre (Teams of 3) 1 Tres Sanguinem Stulti Jamieson Allen Mackay 2 Team Snake Eyes Finkel McLeod Finney 3 Dim Mortals Saunders LeRay Meyer Case 4 MKWS Pearce Pearce Evans 5 Pinner Martin-Smith Dare Brown 6 42 is the meaning of Life Webb Webb Zubelida 7 Dorset & Ware Nomads Gollop Frith Dewbery 8 S.A.D Cavanagh Clarke Hacker 9 G4S Rowland Sola Mackay DBMM (Teams of 3) 1 Denmark Blasi Magiaro Darby 2 West Wivenhow Warlords Mann Hare Houston 3 MK White Hosker Bainbridge Sims 4 Barbarossa Bohn Luck Kimmerle 5 GGBAD2 Pallin Mather Pickering 6 Men of Kent Coombs-Hoare Kershaw Frye 7 Lokomotiv Leeds Richardson Nathan Kumarswamy 8 Brayborough United Van Emden Gibson TBA 9 Unreliable Allies Greaves Taylor Mills FoGAM (Teams of 2) 1 Morrison Patrick 2 Murton Briggs 3 Shaw Shaw 4 Fairhurst Fairhurst 5 Ruddock Longmore 6 Powell Simpson Saga World Cup (Teams of 4) 1 England 2 Belgium 3 Spain 1 4 Hungary 5 France 1 6 Germany 7 USA Blue 8 USA Red 9 Spain 2 10 Sweden Mortem et Gloriam (individual Entry) 1 Flint 2 Jeffery-Cook 3 Gaukroger 4 Denham 5 Broomer 6 Stead 7 Cummins 8 Spence 9 Donohoe 10 Cross 11 Entwistle To The Strongest! As part of the headlong rush to publish pre-Britcon rankings the FoGAM elves have also been busily tapping away to analyse the results from all 50 players to take part in the 16 UK events held in the previous 12 months.
It also all still looks pretty tight at the top for FoGAM with an spectacular Briggs-Bartlett struggle for supremacy going into the final round. Full results can be seen here on the BHGS website As the UK ADLG rankings year rolls to a close at Britcon 2019, there has been an update to the rankings covering all 198 players and all 34 events they have taken part in over the preceding 12 months right across the UK.
Whilst even the most Sky-Sports-Transfer-deadline-day-esque attempt to hype things up is unlikely to convince anyone that the race for the top spot this year will be impacted by Britcon's results, the rest of the top 5 is very much in play with a 4-way fight between club members from Lancaster, CLWC, Durham and Halifax all in the frame The full rankings can be found here on the BHGS website The current roster of 179 players signed up across the round-dozen periods being contested at this year's Britcon has now been updated as of 25/7/2019.
With still a couple of weeks to go that means we're only one player short of last year's ("modern era" record) total ! We also have uneven numbers currently in Epic, Kings of War, ADLG 15mm, MeG and Saga, and so whilst we do have umpire-shaped solutions for most of these, if you did fancy playing any of these systems your presence would be most welcome! Going into the summer highlight of the competition held in the historic market town of Devizes, close to the site of the Battle of Roundway Down the BHGS FoGR Rankings have again been updated.
After a busy and gaming-packed weekend at the NEC we're pleased to present the results from this year's BHGS Challenge held at UK Games Expo. We've also published a whole gallery-full of photos and videos from the event, so you may well be able to see your own (or someone from your club's) army as well if you look carefully!
As well as the 6 competitions being staged, this year the BHGS tables were ideally positioned next to the cafe and bar in the main "free play" gaming area in Hall 2 meaning we saw a lot of interested UKGE punters wandering around our tables and asking players about historical wargaming - so we may well have drummed up a few new members from the wider gaming community as a result of this years event, which is great news all round. Next up is Britcon in Manchester from 9-11 August. We've already got almost 130 players signed up to play in our 12 different events, so at the current rate we are set for the biggest and busiest Britcon in recent memory, so make sure to book your ticket now just in case we reach venue capacity this time around and have to set up a wait list. For a full list of what is on offer at this years competition visit our website We also heard a lot of positive buzz from players this weekend at The Challenge who are forming teams for the BHGS Historical Teams being held at the London GT this September 14/15 in London. Full details are again on our website, with FoG A/M (team), L'Art de La Guerre (team), Mortem et Gloriam (team), DBMM (team), Bolt Action (singles) and To The Strongest! (singles) all being played as well as the Inaugural Saga World Championships (for National Teams). It promises to be a great event so make sure you are a part of it and check out the entry criteria and tournament packs on our site. |
