For the first time the UK ADLG rankings feature a revised weighting system in which competitions are grouped into 4 bands, with the bigger events in the year (size being measured by a simple calculation of "players x rounds") being worth more ranking points.
Winning a "top-tier" event is now worth 100 ranking points, with the other placings at that event earning points on a pro-rata basis for each placing from 1st to last. Winning the smallest category of event is now worth 70 points (this was 55 in rankings published prior to August 2018), reducing the differential in ranking points between big and small events compared to prior years.
Each player's best 6 scores over the previous 12 months count towards their current ranking.
