The UK Government CV-19 roadmap will (in theory) see all Covid-related restrictions ending in mid June 2021, making the staging of wargaming events a possibility from that date onwards.
The latest status on the BHGS Events Schedule for 2021-22 is as follows:
Bookings are now open for the BHGS Teams Competition @ the London GT over the weekend of 25/26th September, where we will be staging competitions for DBM, DBMM, To the Strongest, L'Art de la Guerre and Field of Glory under the BHGS banner.
Updated details for all of these events are now on the BHGS website and we already have almost 60 players signed up at what looks to be a keenly anticipated set of competitions this September - and we very much hope you too will be able to join us in London to start rolling some dice again!
The BHGS Challenge @ UKGE will skip this year and return in 2022, as a combination of possible ongoing restrictions for large scale events post-June, and space constraints at what is apparently now a very congested NEC in the second half of this year mean the UKGE team are not in a position to accommodate our usual roster of competitions at UKGE this July/August.
The door is not (yet) closed to staging a "Britcon" in some shape or form in Manchester later this summer, however the balance of probability is currently that we will not be running an event this year, and instead will look to return again in 2022. Our website has a more complete explanation of the many complex factors we are having to weigh up around Britcon, but either way we expect to be able to confirm the situation for 2021 inside the next few weeks.
We are however planning for the return of Roll Call again in Spring 2022, and will publish dates as soon as possible.
We appreciate this is still not perhaps as clear as we all might like, however at least we are all moving in the right direction.
