After its launch onto the competition scene at the 2016 BHGS Challenge, 2017 saw the first full year of MeG tournaments, during which 65 players took part in 13 ranked events held around the world, with 47 of these players being UK based.
At the end of the year, Alasdair Harley was the world's top-ranked MeG player with a maximum-possible ranking score of 85/85 and winning 8 out of the 9 events he entered - much to the relief of the UK FoG:R community !
The MeG Rankings are hosted on the Draco Standard website, where they are updated on a regular basis by Paul Cummins. The 9 ranking events held in the UK included all of the BHGS competitions, including 23 players at Britcon representing the largest MeG field of the year.
