To The Strongest! @ Britcon
At Britcon this year To The Strongest! will feature for the first time, in a 2-day multi-round competition.
To The Strongest will use the standard rule set as modified by the most recent set of Even Stronger. This is presently version 9 To the Strongest! Ancient and Medieval - Even Stronger Supplement V9 - – BigRedBat's Shop (bigredbatshop.co.uk) but any amendments up to the end of July 2022 will be used.
The armies permitted will be from the most recent Ancient or medieval lists up to the end of July 2022, all lists to be submitted by 01/08/2022 to Sid at email@example.com please title your email BRITCON 2022 list.
The points values will 140 and use the modified September 2021 OOB generator free from the BigRedBat shop at TtS! Ancients & Medieval Order of Battle for the September Tournaments – BigRedBat's Shop (bigredbatshop.co.uk)
The first-round opponents will be pre-decided on a roughly historically compatible match up, thereafter its modified Swiss tournament rules. If there are any players individuals do not wish to play e.g., regular club mates then please indicate this when lists are submitted. This exemption is only in effect for round one.
All games will be played on a 6’ x 4’ table using 150mm (6”) squares. The organiser would appreciate it if players could bring a cloth or extra terrain, we will try to provide cloths and terrain but at this point numbers are unknown and this is all virgin territory for TTS, so your support will be very much appreciated.
All figures must be 25/28mm scale, and representative of the units they portray and painted to a minimum standard of three colours and a base of two colours including highlights.
The timetable is as follows
- 0845-0920 Registration
- 0930-1145 Round One
- 1245- 1445 Round Two
- 1515- 1715 Round three
- 0900-1130 Round Four
- 1230-1445 Round Five
The venue will be open from Friday lunchtime until fairly late in the evenining, and the tables for TTS! will be set up then also, so anyone wishing to arrange friendly (or other!) games on Friday is welcome to do so.
Scoring will be the number of coins you take from your opponent with a 4-point bonus if you take all their coins. The number of coins you lose will also be recorded to adjudicate any draws in deciding placing. In the unlikely event these are equal at the end, if those two players had met, then the player who won that match will be placed above the other player. Results slips will be placed on each table and it is the responsibility of the winning player (the player who took the most coins) to hand this to the Umpire (Sid).
Time will be called 15 minutes before the end of the round when the present player will finish the turn, if that player had taken the first turn, then the player who went second will then complete their turn.
After a long and heated discussion, it has been decided that only cards and not chits will be used during the tournament. Cards will be gathered and shuffled for both players at the end of each players turn.
There will be a banquet/feast/pub meal on the Saturday night, details to follow. Hence the extra time allowed for round four.
