Britcon - East Midlands Megagame Group

Yugenya has gone from being a forgotten backwater to the frontline of an economic cold war between China and the West due to the discovery of large rare earth metal mines. In the latter years of the Generalissimo’s life, he used the wealth from these mines to expand the revolutionary guard, build a navy and establish an air force.

Critics would also say he channelled much of the wealth into paranoia-fueled schemes against imagined foes. Regardless, Yugenya has never been so important!

Let's just hope nothing happens to the architect of all this prosperity, our glorious leader the Generalissimo...

Part boardgame, part roleplaying game, with elements of wargames and LARP, megagames are the ultimate gaming experience. Lots of people come together to work with (and against) each other, covering multiple genres, usually taking place across a whole day.

Here’s a quick guide to megagames if you’d like to know more.

At Britcon this year the East Midlands megagame group will be staging The Generalissimo is Dead , a megagame where 30+ players all take on the roles of a government which is paranoid, dysfunctional, and barely held together through the will of a totalitarian leader who may not be around forever.

How do you deal with petty rivalries between government departments, covetous advances by foreign powers, and Heaven forbid what would you do if the Generalissimo needed replacing?

Come and find out, and see just how well you would do in a day-long game of conspiracy, deceit, and the occasional military parade to the Glory of the Generalissimo!

Bookings for the Megagame are made direct with the EMM Group via their own website.

They include access to the show & lunch but do not include a £5 Britcon trader voucher.
