Saga Ironman @ The Grand Melee
The 2024 Grand Melee Ironman tournament is a competition unlike any other - because you don't get to choose your army!
Running as two stand-alone events on both Saturday & Sunday, with an option to book both days and totally immerse yourself in a weekend of Saga action, Ironman 2024 will see you use three different warbands each day against three different opponents. All warbands, figures and terrain are provided by Gripping Beast & the organiser.
There are no scenarios, overall victory is based on cumulative kill points across the three games. So a stumble in one game doesn't mean your tournament is over - you can still bounce back and lead your (brand new) Warband to victory later in the day!
Although there is a competitive aspect to the day, the emphasis is on enjoyment and playing in the spirit of the game. It is ideally suited to both experienced players and newbies.
This year's version is "Age of Heroes" as each warband will be led by a legendary warlord who comes with their own set of rules.
The warbands have been selected from all the current SAGA books (apart from the Age of Magic). This is an ideal opportunity to use or face warbands you may not have encountered yet. Expect elephants, chariots, crossbows, sarissas and subterfuge
All scenery, measures, dice and figures are supplied; all you have to do is turn up and enjoy the day.
Each daily ticket includes a "grab bag" lunch and a £5 voucher to spend with any of the many traders at the Britcon Trade Show (including of course Gripping Beast!). The two-day ticket option includes lunch both days, but only on2 £5 voucher.
