On behalf of the BHGS we'd like to thank all of those who played, visited or helped out at Britcon 2026 earlier this month.
Whether you were playing at the Bolt Action GT or the Saga Grand Melee, taking part in Lard Workshop, being part of our first Barons War Doubles & Singles weekend event, or playing in any of our other myriad of competitions and events, the feedback we’ve had from everyone has been that you were a great bunch of gamers to share the venue with, not only in terms of how much you spent with the trade stands (but, yes, that did help!!) but more importantly in terms of how everyone taking part contributed to creating a really friendly, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere across the whole event all weekend.
That in turn certainly made our job as organisers much easier, and also was greatly appreciated by all of our hard-working TO's, who really are the ones doing the heavy lifting over the weekend in terms of planning and managing and (hopefully infrequently!) chipping in with the occasional bit of umpiring across all of the various tournaments taking place at Britcon each year.
Since we got back to BHGS Towers we’ve been chasing up the tournament TO’s so we can upload all of the event results to the Britcon 2026 results page on our website, as well as adding a whole gallery of photos taken over the weekend - see if you can spot yourself (or your army!)
For 2027 Britcon will be back in the same venue over the weekend of 13-15 August.
If you have any comments or suggestions on how we can continue to improve Britcon next year please feel free to email us at [email protected] and we’ll do our best to make 2027 an even bigger and better Britcon next time around.
Before that The BHGS are staging two other events you may wish to consider:

Before that The BHGS are staging two other events you may wish to consider:
The BHGS Burton “Doubles” - 20/21 February 2027. Yes, from next year The BHGS are picking up the baton from Burton’s BAD Wargamers to take The Burton Doubles into its 4th decade!
Regular Burton competitions (ADLG, DBMM, FoG, MeG,, ReG, FoGR) will be joined next year by DBA (and potentially Saga and Barons War too), in the only wargames tournament to be held in the home of British Brewing !
Roll Call 2026 including the Bolt Action English Nationals - 3/4 April 2027, back in our usual venue in Cranfield with a host of competitions taking place over the weekend.
Details of both events can be found on The BHGS Website, with tickets for most of the events being staged at Burton already on sale.
The full list of traders and demos at the Britcon Trade Show is also still online on our website, so if there's anyone you missed, anyone you saw but have forgotten their name, anyone who'd already sold out of the stuff you wanted by the time you got to their stand please make sure to visit our online exhibitor listing and use it to get in touch with our traders after the show.
