Lard Workshop 2026

Picture
We are delighted to welcome back Too Fat Lardies "Lard Workshop" to Britcon again in 2026

Lard Workshop 2026 is an official Too Fat Lardies games day, with TFL dignitaries Richard Clarke, Nick Skinner and Sidney Roundwood in attendance, with the whole Lardy shebang being masterminded on their behalf by Don Avis.

Lard Workshop 2026 will take place on Saturday 8th August and as usual there will be the option of joining the other attendees in the traditional social beer and curry in a local Indian restaurant in the evening.

There are currently 14 great games lined up covering all the big Lardy favourites including Chain of Command, Sharp Practice, Infamy Infamy, Midgard and General D’Armee2 amongst others.

One of the most pleasing aspects of the three previous Lard Workshops was the number of “new to Lard” gamers. All you need to do is turn up and play some of the fantastic games from the Too Fat Lardies stable, with everything provided by the Games Masters from figures, terrain, rules, dice and tape measures (and tactical advice).

You just need to bring a fun attitude – many attendees use these days to “try before you buy” and learn the rules from the experts, who in many cases are the Rules Authors themselves!

There will be two sessions, morning and afternoon, and nearer the date you will be asked to supply your three preferences as to which game or rules system you would like to play. In the last three Workshops, everyone has got two of their three preferences (but of course this isn’t guaranteed!).

Your entry fee includes not only two fabulous games but also a grab bag lunch on Saturday plus the famous “Britcon Fiver” which is a £5 voucher to spend at any trader attending the show.

So what are you waiting for? Come and join us for a great fun day of gaming where we can guarantee that the Lard Community will extend a warm welcome to all.

The list of games will be published once we have full details from all the GMs:

If you would like to volunteer to run a game or games at a future Lard Workshop please contact Don Avis with details on what you would like to run and when.

Variety is the spice of life!

A full list of games is produced about two weeks before the event when signed up players will able too indicate your preferred choice of games. We will do our best to ensure that everyone gets at least one of their choices, but if this is not possible – fear not – every game will be fantastic!
