Sharp Practice @ Britcon - 28mm Napoleonic

Picture
At Britcon 2019 there will be one Napoleonic period using Sharp Practice.

Rule Set: Sharp Practice 2
Period: Napoleonic (Peninsular War 1809-1812)
Scale: 28mm  Tables:  6ft x 4ft
Forces: French Empire vs Allies (British, Portuguese, Spanish)
Army Size: Doubles - 2 x 50 points per side.
Players can either enter as a pair or be assigned a partner - please contact David if you have any questions.

There will be both team and individual awards for places (which might make for some interesting friction between allies!).

Book via the Britcon Booking Page

  • We are looking to accommodate 32 players, with 8 French and 8 Allied teams of 2  released initially. Depending on offers of terrain we hope to expand this nearer the event.
  • Terrain will be pre-set. If you are able to provide or contribute towards a table of terrain please let us know as part of the booking process.
  • David Hunter will be on Umpiring duties

  • 2018 Tournament Pack - "The Most Cleverly Fought" - download for reference

  • Game Length: 2.5 hours per game
  • # of Games: TBC, however Britcon allows gaming on Friday evening, a longer than average full day on Saturday and a standard 2-game Sunday
  • There will be at least five games played over Saturday and Sunday, and you will play once on each table against a different opponent from the opposing side. The scenarios will vary from round to round and will be a mix of Missions and Battles. The
mission pack specific to your chosen side will be made available at least two weeks before the event. It would be inadvisable to share your version of the scenarios with anyone from the opposing side.

Format: Teams  will be matched from round to round to ensure nobody plays on  the same table twice and nobody plays the same opponent twice. Teams who have lost their previous game who are matched against an opponent  who won their previous game will have choice of table edges and role in  the game (eg attacker/defender), if applicable.

Campaign: There will be a campaign map. Depending on the results  of the 5 games we shall see if either faction can break the enemy's lines  over the weekend.
